Running PowerBuilder 7, Oracle 8.0.6, can we just upgrade the database?
I work at DTE Energy in Detroit and we have an application running on PowerBuilder 7 with Oracle 8.0.6 as the database. Can we convert the database to Oracle 11? Will the application still work or do we have to upgrade to a newer version of PowerBuilder.

Crystal XI R2 RDC ViewReport function does nothing in Powerbuilder 12.6
I have recently migrated a 32-bit Windows application from Powerbuilder 12.5 (classic) to Powerbuilder 12.6 (classic). It uses Crystal XI R2 RDC to print reports. All calls to the OLE objects to set properties as well as the calls to connect to the database and verify the report work properly as they did in Powerbuilder 12.5, but the "ViewReport" function of the viewer object does nothing. It does not show any activity on the SQL server and stays completely blank on the Powerbuilder window.
The code is split up into multiple functions so I cannot post it here, but I can certify that it runs on the same computer with Powerbuilder 12.5, so it should not be a configuration issue or an issue with the Crystal DLLs. The code used is very similar to the examples often provided on this forum and in Crystal RDC documentation.
Is there a compatibility issue in Powerbuilder 12.6?

Infomaker Install Problem
I have installed Infomaker 11 on windows 7, 64 bit and have a license file. However I get the following message in the sysam.log file.
***Invalid property file or missing a mandatory edition property.
I've searched and found issues about an invalid .lic file but I don't think that is the issue. I'm guessing it has something to do with sysam starting up as a service but I don't know where to look for this.

Migrating application from Powerbuilder 10.2.1 to 12.5 ? Any problems ?

I have noticed a problem (the application fails !!) under PC with Windows 8 and using tactile screen. Do you have any good news on this specific topic, for instance the resolution of the problem in new version 12.5 ? Also, are there many bad surprises in migrating a plain application to 12.5 ? NB: If you know it, have you an idea of the price (dollar or euro) of a standalone new powerbuilder version, as I did not subscribe a maintenance licence with version 10.2.1. Calling webservice from Powerbuilder 12.5
Hi ,
We are trying to call a java web service from Powerbuilder 12.5 .
We have created the proxy objects using the WSDL and when try to hit the service , we are getting the below error.
Unexpected wrapper element getSquare found. Expected {https://service.sg.com/}getSquare
What could be the cause?
Any issues in the WSDL generated? I have attached the screenshots of WSDL and PB code used for reference

32-bit PowerBuilder 12.0 .exe compatibilty with WINDOWS SERVER 2012.

I support an application which is written in Sybase
PowerBuilder 12.0.
Application executable (.exe) file is created from
PowerBuilder 12.0 32-bit version.
Users access the application through Citrix links hosted on
either Windows Server 2008(64-bit machines) or Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit
machines).
Till date there is no known issue of compatibility between
an executable created by a 32-bit PowerBuilder 12.0 IDE and above mentioned
Windows servers(64-bit).
My query is, If we upgrade our servers to Windows server
2012 (again a 64-bit machine), will 32-bit PowerBuilder 12.0 .exe be still
compatible with Windows Server 2012?

PowerBuilder - Sysam served license
Hi Folks,
We are using served license for our PowerBuilder 12.5 and recently we did a system refresh. We have installed PB in the new PC and point the license to our sysam server. But the PowerBuilder in the new PC showing that we are in grace period. I checked the sysam logs on the server and it looks like installation from old PC is still holding the license. Can someone please advise how can we release this?

Trying to make DataWindow.Net work on .NET 3.5 and beyond
Hi there!
I work as a software developer for a large Canadian company. I am seeking help from someone that could help answer my questions regarding DataWindow.Net...
Over the years the IT department of my company has developed a lot of custom homebrewed software used by our sales team to sell our products. A lot of these tools have been built in .NET using the DataWindow.Net 2.0 control created by Sybase a couple of years ago. We know that the tool has been EOL’d some time ago but, as of today, we haven’t been able to convert all the existing software to something else (we are mostly rewriting everything in .NET and leaving Powerbuilder behind). We still have some software that use this (once wonderful) technology and we fear that we might not be able to finish the conversion within the next three years.
We’ve been able to make the existing software work on the last releases of Windows by installing the .Net framework 2.0 on the targeted machines. Problem is that Microsoft has announced the end of extended support for the .Net framework 2.0 somewhere around April 2016. We fear that our software might suddenly stop working in the near future because of that.
Our latest tests on the upcoming version of Windows 10 leave us thinking that it is still compatible with that OS when we install the .NET framework 2.0.
Now come the questions:
1) Am I right thinking that everything might still work in the next few years if we install .NET framework 3.5 on the targeted machines in the future? EOL for .NET 3.5 is scheduled for somewhere around 2020.
2) Is there any way to get a version of the DataWindow.Net tool that would be compatible with .Net 4.0? Is there a way to buy the source code to be able to retarget the tool towards .Net 4.0?
3) What other options do my company have?
I hope someone out there will be able to help me figure out the best way to make everything work until we finish our conversion work.

Moving License Server
The company I work for is trying to move where our Powerbuilder License Server is so we can decommission the machine it is on, and I cant request a new key because everytime I click it at Keys | SAP Support Portal, it tells me to log in again, and my normal SAP login wont work. I guess what Im asking is there a walkthrough or guide on changing the machine the server license is installed on? Thank you for any help.

Background:
We have been trying to find a solution how to invoke Crystal Reports file (.rpt) from Powerbuilder 12.6.
Currently, the Crystal Viewer OLE 11.0 Powerbuilder control does not seem to work in PowerBuilder 12.6.
In addition, from the various forum discussions, it seems that the Crystal Viewer OLE control has been deprecated in Crystal Reports 2013.
What methods are available to invoke Crystal Reports 2011/2013 rpt files from Powerbuilder 12.6?
What methods are available to invoke Crystal Reports 2011/2013 rpt files from other platforms, e.g, C++, .NET, Java, etc.?
Please post a solution or suggestion to accomplish this.
